To clarify, by MATLAB's equivalent of Julia's push!() I meant array(end+1) = val, I think support for such syntax existed in MATLAB for a while, and yes, it does indeed perform re-allocation, but what makes you think that push!() or append!() in Julia do not perform re-allocation?
